Dinsmore & Associates, Inc. drastically shortens the lead-time for creating these parts by effectively and efficiently combining the two processes for the creation of plastic molded components using thermoplastic resins. This service speeds up the deployment of a new product and can significantly reduce the product development cycle.
We work with advanced aluminum alloys, milled steel including P-20 and high-speed CNC machining and EDM to rapidly produce injection mold tools. Our process features an unprecedented degree of standardization and automation which is how we deliver injection molded parts faster, on-time and cheaper than traditional tooling processes. We specialize in injection molded parts made from common thermoplastic materials including ABS, polycarbonate, nylon, and more. In some cases there are specialty materials that the customer requires that can only be met with our injection molding process. Dinsmore & Associates, Inc. specializes in plastic injection molding and prototype engineering or "DFPT" design for prototype tooling which assists with common or special needs. Working directly from our clients' 3D CAD data, Dinsmore & Associates, Inc. automates high-speed CNC equipment for cutting steel and aluminum tools and inserts.
Production injection molding is a cost effective way to produce large quantities of parts. There are no volume limits and no manufacturing limits on your part. Any commercial available material can be used in the production of the part, and any surface finish can be applied. Put our expertise in process technology and materials knowledge to work for you, from the prototype phase to high volume production.
Prototype injection molding is a specialty service, combining rapid prototyping techniques with more traditional plastic injection molding processes. Dinsmore & Associates, Inc. uses rapid tooling in conjunction with plastic injection molding to quickly create any quantity of thermoplastic parts. This fast prototyping injection molding service creates injection-molded plastic parts for a variety of uses. With press sizes ranging from 75 to 150 tons, Dinsmore & Associates, Inc. can meet your injection molding part needs from 25 parts to high-volume production runs.
Dinsmore & Associates, Inc. offers full capability insert molding, starting with manual loading of metal inserts for conventional, hydraulic and vertical shuttle press molding. Operator assisted, semi-automated loading of multiple part strips using offline loading fixtures is used in many tight tolerance, mid-range volume applications. Automated insert in a continuous reel-to-reel molding process is used when high volume precision molding is required.
Insert molding provides customers with a lower cost alternative to other manufacturing methods by reducing assembly and labor and increases product reliability as parts are secured tightly into thermoplastic to provide added strength by consolidating parts.
Dinsmore & Associates, Inc. has considerable experience in developing new product designs, as well as transferring existing tooled programs. We will support you on your easiest part configurations to the most complex moldable geometries. With our in-house CNC machining capabilities, we can even provide solutions to save tooling expense or to create non-moldable geometries.
Over-molding is becoming increasingly important, not only to aesthetically enhance a product with color, but also to provide function, such as a softer, non-slip handle grip and shock absorption on consumer products. Dinsmore & Associates, Inc. provides over-molding in a variety of applications from consumer household and cosmetic products to dental and medical devices. Over-molding is the process where one plastic material is injected and molded over a second plastic material. The over-molded part will form a strong chemical bond, in some instances and will be mechanically aided in others to maintain its strength in the end-use application.
